​About me

Hi, I'm Virginia—like the state! I am a non-union actor and voice artist based in Detroit and I'm willing and all too happy to travel and work in multiple time zones. In fact, the majority of VO jobs I've had so far have been international!

Going back as far as I can remember, there has always been voiceover and singing. When I was a kid my folks would play the original Rent soundtrack on car trips--I could sing along so long as I didn't repeat the swears--and I practiced for ages to sound exactly like Simba in The Lion King. Some of my earliest memories of voiceover were my mom recording books on tape for me when I was very small, and noticing when the voices of characters in my favorite cartoons appeared in other shows (animation is something I still very much enjoy to this day). For years  I wanted to grow up to be Jim Carrey, and later amended that to Bette Midler. Something about actors who threw themselves fully into characters spoke to my little soul and never left.

A big part of my heart still lies in singing and musical theater and I've got buckets of experience in both over many, many years. I've even some ballroom and puppetry training thrown in, for a little extra spice. When I'm not acting, I'm a novelist of (currently) historical psychological fiction and I'm also a part-time semi-professional rabbit wrangler!

In VO, my focus is on grounded characters--the kinds found in video games, performance capture, and adult animation (For a sample of an audition for such a character, click here! (used with permission)). My love of art, history, and science also draw me to museum guides and documentaries and I've always been a fan of edu-tainment.

I also have a lot of experience doing audio dramas, eLearning, and corporate narration and I'm always willing to try new things!
